Planning Your Visit - Parking & Hotels

This information is for the participants of hosted events. Regular clients and guests who will be staying less than a couple hours can simply use street parking.

Where to Park

Most of the parking in the historic downtown Kent area is limited to 2 hours Mon-Sat, which is perfect for my Soma and Pilates clients. For all-day workshop attendees, there are a few pockets of all-day parking you can use for these longer events. Please read over the info and map below, and be sure to print a copy to make this part of your visit as smooth as possible!

Where to Stay

Below is a list of hotel options near the studio in downtown Kent. I’m afraid we don’t have any posh/luxury options here in the humble downtown area. If you’d like something nicer and don’t mind a bit longer drive, there are many other options out toward the airport (the studio is just about 20 minutes from the airport).

* Please Note: The Red Lion is on the list because it’s the closest, a 3 minute drive/15 minute walk to the studio. All options above are still close (5-10 minute drive). I stayed here twice recently due to remodeling work being done on my house, and at those times it was the least expensive of all these options. Staff was friendly and I found it reasonably clean, but it’s got a pretty cut-rate feel to it, thin walls, and is close to loud trains going by all night long (I actually didn’t notice the trains at all but it’s been mentioned by others). Online reviews aren’t great either.

Just west from the studio on Meeker Street is a whole block of unrestricted street parking. I recommend heading here first on weekday mornings.

Third Avenue south of Titus street is also unrestricted, often wide open, and features quite a few pull-in spots if you happen to be parallel parking-challenged. The parking on this block looks a little weird, as though it’s meant for the businesses on the street, but it is absolutely open to anyone.

The back (south) half of this parking lot is unrestricted, but on weekday mornings it fills up by 8/8:30. Always wide open Saturday mornings!
